June 8, 1919 – April 16, 2014: MISSOULAâ�,��**– Pauline L. Bray, 94, of Missoula, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
Pauline was born at Grassy Butte, N.D., to Stephen and Irene Boychenko. She was raised on a homestead north of Grassy Butte and received her education there. During World War II, she worked for Jimmie's Sweet Shop in Killdeer, N.D. Later, she worked for Farmers Union Co-op Grocery Store and Anderson's Quality Store in Killdeer, where she met Edwin Bray.
They were married Oct. 3, 1944, in Manning, N.D. They farmed in North Dakota and Brockway until Ed's ill health moved them to Missoula in 1963. Her husband passed away March 5, 1967.
Pauline worked at White Pine Sash from 1965 until her retirement in 1984. Pauline was an expert at raising a garden and beautiful flowers. She loved to have company and enjoyed baking for friends and family. One never left her home without a meal or one of her wonderful desserts. Bingo and card playing were her favorite pastime.
She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Karen Case of Phoenix and Debbie Cushner (Dan) of Santa Fe, N.M.; one grandchild, Charles Case of Kalispell; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Peter, Mike, Joe and Anton Boychenko; and three sisters, Dena Charchenko, Anna Jagol and Rose Boychenko
