Paul Harlan Greenwood
Paul Greenwood, beloved father, grandfather, and cherished member of the community, passed away on July 17, 2024, at the age of 49. He was born in Hillsboro, WI, to Harlan D. and Geralyn (Foss) Greenwood.
Paul's early years were marked by a move to Polson, MT, where he attended and graduated with honors from Polson High School in 1993. He remained in the Mission Valley for most of his life, building strong relationships throughout the community.
Paul devoted himself to his children and grandchildren, who were his entire world. A Counselor of Souls, he generously gave his time to those in need and served as a Deacon at All Souls Church. Non-materialistic and compassionate, Paul was a nurturer who approached life with innovation and vision, earning a reputation as a skilled business negotiator and a free spirit with an infectious laugh.
Paul found joy in many things, including cooking, road trips, and camping with friends. He had a passion for reading non-fiction and Christian books, believing strongly that reading brought knowledge and insight.
Paul is survived by his children: Dean, Jack, Anna, and Molly. He adored his children deeply, and his love for them was evident to all who had the joy of spending time with Paul and his family. His love and pride extended to his grandchildren, Raylan, Ahrianna, and Kase, whom he cherished dearly. Paul is also survived by his parents, Harley and Geri; his siblings, Doug, Steve, and Kristi; and numerous friends and extended family who shared in his love of food and joy.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Cecelia Greenwood, and Ervin and Anna Foss, as well as his uncles Tim and Leroy and his aunt Rebecca.
Throughout his life, Paul held various jobs that shaped his character and skills. From his early days at Milk Jug in Polson to his time at Grede Foundry in Reedsburg, where he developed a love for the chemistry of making hardened steel, Paul's career path was diverse. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Tech DeTechtive in 2017, a successful venture reflecting both his knowledge and aversion to being confined behind a desk.
Paul's favorite jobs included his role as a chef at Horseshoe Lounge, where he honed his creative cooking skills, and his involvement with All Souls Church in Missoula, where his spiritual journey was profoundly meaningful.
Despite facing numerous challenges throughout his life's journey, Paul Greenwood remained resilient and steadfast in his faith, embodying strength and grace in the face of adversity.
