Patricia Joyce "Patti" (Smith) Gendrow was taken from us on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at age 53 due to medical issues.
After passing, Patti did what she did best and that was giving. She gave the gift of life so others could live a healthy life.
Patti was born the middle child among four boys in Booneville, Arkansas, on May 20, 1962, to Jimmy (Smitty) and Joyce Smith.
Patti attended schools all over the county due to her father Jimmy being in the Air Force. Patti graduated from Mullan High School in Mullan, Idaho, in 1981 where she played volleyball and was a member of the drill team. After graduation, Patti moved to Superior, where she worked at the Superior hospital.
Patti met and married Chris Schwartzman and son Michael was born, later they were divorced.
Patti later moved to Missoula, where she worked as a bartender and waitress at the Roadhouse. She met and married David Gendrow and they had one daughter named Chelsie. The couple later divorced.
Patti worked for the University of Montana in Miller Hall for the past 20 years.
Patti enjoyed crafts, baking, canning, gardening and loved to spend time with her family and friends.
If you knew Patti, you would know that words cannot express how loving and caring she was. She loved her work, the people she worked with, the students, and her cats.
Patti was preceded in death by her father Jimmy; her beloved grandmother Helen McDonald; her grandfather Ben McDonald; grandparents John and Willie Smith; uncles Jimmy and Joe McDonald and two sisters-in-law, Bobby Ann and Barbra.
Patti is survived by her children, Michael and Chelsie of Missoula; her mother Joyce of Mullan; brothers, David of Osburn, Idaho, Pat of Ellaville, Georgia, Rick and Kristie of Mullan, Mike and Jerri Lynn of Osburn; her closest and dearest friend Mary Pat; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends that loved her and she loved very dearly.
A memorial service will be held for Patti on March 6 at 1 p.m. at the 4H building in Superior a and it will be a potluck, so bring your favorite dish and all of your stories. The family asks that you wear casual clothing or Montana Grizzly apparel, please no black.
