Norma June Dumm Price, 85, passed away at the Village Health Care Center on Dec. 12, 2013, with her family by her side.
She was born June 20, 1928, in Seattle to Lester Dumm and Ola Potter Dumm. She had an older sister, Billie Cornelius.
Norma married Russell Kent Price on Dec. 2, 1945, at the First United Methodist Church in Missoula. They were married almost 60 years before Russ passed away in May 2005. They had two sons, Dennis (1947) and Kevin (1952).
Together, Norma and Russ owned Price Building Service Inc. for 18 years. They were extremely proud of the family history in construction now reaching its fifth generation.
When Norma's sons were young, she was very active in their school, Target Range, with PTA, being a room mother and a Cub Scout leader.
Norma loved her family with every ounce of her being. She was blessed to have both her sons live near her while they raised their families and then had the opportunity to have a close relationship with her grandkids and great-grandkids, with whom she especially enjoyed spending time. Family was everything to her.
She also enjoyed camping and fishing while her sons were younger. She used to love restoring antique furniture and remodeling older homes to their original finishes. In her later years, her hobbies were needlepoint, puzzles of any kind and reading. Her reading passion was anything related to Montana history.
Norma was preceded in death by her mother, father, sister and her husband. She is survived by her two sons and their families: son Dennis (Joy) of Corvallis; grandson Todd (Amy) and great-grandsons Matthew and Jacob of Frenchtown; grandson Jason of Missoula; son Kevin (Andi) of Missoula; granddaughter Hallie (Nathan) Lopuch and great-granddaughters Kylie and Ellie of Missoula; grandson Chad (Renee) and great-grandson Carter and great-granddaughter Madison of Turah. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Village Health Care Center for their care and compassion of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother while she was in their care from a broken pelvis due to a fall.
The family suggests memorials to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Northwest Chapter, 2047 Broadwater, Suite 2, Billings, MT 59102.
