Nathan Scott Bird, 36, of Huson, came to rest in the hands of our Lord on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, doing what he loved the most. Nathan came to Montana at the age of 17 from Jonesboro, Ark., with his father Steve. Here he made it home and came into the lives of Glenn and Judy Davenport of Lolo, where he met his wife and soulmate Kris Norton Bird.
Nathan was an avid outdoorsman, excellent marksman and the kind of man others aspire to be. He was happiest outdoors with his wife, Kris, and his dogs, Savage and Trax, at his side, a gun in one hand and Bud Light in the other. Not only was Nathan an incredible role model and mentor to his stepdaughters, Jennifer and Jerrica Strom and granddaughter Bailey Strom, but a solid presence in all of our lives. Nathan shared a special bond with his brother, Steven, who followed him to Montana and shared many adventures.
Those Nathan left behind who will always love him, miss him and forever hold him in in their hearts, are his wife Kris Bird; his two stepdaughters, Jennifer and Jerrica Strom; granddaughter Bailey Strom; father Steve Bird; mother Phyllis Bailey; brothers, Steven and Chad Bird; stepfather Joe Bailey; stepmother Juanita Bird; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lumberjack Saloon at 2000 Graves Creek Rd., Lolo at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. (approximately 12 miles up Highway 12 W.). In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the National Rifle Association to help protect the heritage that was so important to Nathan.
