MISSOULA – Mollie Marie Simon, 77, died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her home surrounded by family after a long bout with illness.
She was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Havre to Bernard and Evelyn Montgomery Voght. She married Dean Simon on June 24, 1952, in Grangeville, Idaho, and they would have celebrated their 61st anniversary this year.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Jim. She is survived by her husband, Dean; a brother, Leslie Chase; her sons, Terry, Barry and Ricky; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was proud that she had taught many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to swim.
She and her husband, Dean, have lived in Missoula for 50 years and she had been active in the local community having served in positions of leadership with the Elks, YWCA, PTA and other groups. She was an avid bridge player and held the status of Silver Life Master.
A memorial service for her will be held this Thursday, June 13, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 3050 South Ave. W. from 4 to 6 p.m.
