Obituary for Milton "Red" Cole

Milton "Red" Cole, 85, passed away on Sept. 29, 2014, at Community Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born June 5, 1929, in Halliday, North Dakota, to Milton and Lillian Cole. He graduated from Halliday High School in 1948. He enlisted in the Army in 1951, was in the 2nd Infantry and served in the Korean War. When returning from the war, he married Norma Neirhor and they had four children and later divorced.

He worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, Cenex Corp. and KOA Campgrounds.

On May 5, 1989, he married Jean Weber of Missoula and they shared 25 years, having fun and enjoying each other's lives.

His hobbies included camping, fishing, woodworking, traveling and playing cards with friends. He enjoyed helping others who were less fortunate than himself and giving hope to those in need.

Red is survived by his wife, Jean of the family home; a son, Jeff of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter, Carla Hirst of Tioga, North Dakota; a stepson, Don Weber (Cindy) of Anaheim, California; a stepdaughter, Debbie O'Toole (Kelly) of Missoula; grandchildren, Nick, Dakota and Chiyanna Cole, Ashley and Lisa Weber, Casey and Sean O'Toole, and Marie Quist; and great-grandchildren, Damon and Taylor Quist.

Red is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alice, Mary and Doris; and daughters, Audrey Nicolette and Mary Jo.

Per Red's request, no service will be held until a later date at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Missoula.
