Obituary for Mildred Rose Schwaderer

18 hours ago(0) SignaturesMISSOULA – Mildred Rose Schwaderer, 88, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at Bee Hive Homes. She was born May 31, 1925, in Delavan, Kan., the daughter of John Douglas and Amelia Marie (Holliger) Hughes.

Mildred attended country schools in Delavan, completing the 10th grade. When she was 14 years old her family moved to Spokane, where she attended high school.

In 1944, she married Richard Schwaderer. She worked for 22 years in the laundry department at Community Hospital. They loved camping, and she also enjoyed gardening and canning. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Missoula Police Department, Fort Missoula Historical Museum and Meals on Wheels; she also worked in the church office doing bookkeeping. She loved to walk.

She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Richard Schwaderer, three sisters, four brothers and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Rick Schwaderer of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three daughters, Sharon Philippi and husband Stephen of Chico, Calif., Linda Billehus and husband Al of Missoula and Shirley Goldsby of Graham, Wash.; five grandsons, Jason Billehus of Missoula, Nate Goldsby of Enumclaw, Wash., James Raymer of Tacoma, Wash., Richard Raymer of Puyallup, Wash., and Dan Raymer of Tacoma; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Ellen Hughes of Federal Way, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mildred will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the First Lutheran Church, 2808 South Ave. W. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be private by the family.
