Michael Peter Pfau Jr., 80, of Missoula, passed away Monday Oct. 22, 2018, at home surrounded by his family, of natural causes.
Michael was born Oct. 16, 1938, in St. Ignatius to Rose and Michael S. Pfau. He attended St. Francis Catholic School in Missoula as a child. Mike was a man of many trades and talents ranging from Military service (Army National Guard and Air Force), Truck Driver, Repair Man, and Janitorial work. He was also an Artist who enjoyed making pastel drawings on his free time.
Mike thoroughly enjoyed church services, bowling, his family, along with telling stories of his past, and watching old Westerns.
Mike married his wife Ruth Wilson July 19, 1968, in Kootenai, Idaho. In which three children were born Gregory Pfau (58), Ted Pfau (52), and Mary Campbell (deceased).
Aug. 20, 1983, Mike and Patricia Pfau were wed in Missoula at First Christian Church. Three children were also born to include James Pfau (34), Karoline Pfau (33), and Robert Pfau (28). Mike and his wife Patricia lovingly took in their grandson Earl Pfau preceding Mike’s daughter (Mary’s) death and raised him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Michael S. Pfau and his daughter Mary Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, Missoula. Five children: Gregory Pfau and his wife Debra, Ted Pfau and his wife Allie Rogers, James Pfau, Karoline Pfau, and Robert Pfau. Four grandchildren to include Lucas and Victoria (Karoline), Earl Pfau (30) and his wife Courtney Pfau, and Steve Hughes (33)(Mary), along with four great-grandchildren (Austin, Logan, Cadence, and Earl Pfau Jr.)
Public Viewing will be held Friday Nov. 2nd from 12-5 p.m. at Garden City Funeral Home 1705 W. Broadway. Along with the Remembrance ceremony to be held Saturday Nov. 3rd from 1-4 p.m. at First Christian Church followed by Burial with Pastor Alan Hilberg officiating at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
