Michael K Porter

– Michael Keith Porter, 73, of Lolo passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1943, in Great Falls to Garnard and Lorena (Jeffery) Porter. He grew up in Lewistown and upon graduation from Fergus County High School served in the Army.

He was a heavy equipment operator before moving to Lolo and opening a small engine repair shop.

Mike lived most of his life with multiple sclerosis, doing so with strength, determination and a great deal of courage. He was known as a kind man with a gentle spirit and will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.


The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers that have helped Mike over the years. He proudly supported veteran organizations and other charities. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Survivors include his children, Melanie (Yukon) Grubaugh, Melinda Erickson, Brandie (James) Hellman, Jason (Christina) Porter; grandchildren, Tana, Sydney, Sierra, Haley, Jared, Maria, Colton, Brynn, Derek, Bryce, Allie; sisters, Marcia (Pete) Eddins, Cathie (Nick) Benson, Christie Bellows (Jake Deem); stepfather Robert Morris; three aunts, two uncles, four nieces, one nephew and many cousins.

Services are planned for June 24. Details will be posted at a later date.
