Michael Christopher "Mike" Hagen Jr. left this earth and entered into heaven on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at 9:45 p.m. We have lost a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, friend and minister. In the days and minutes preceding his death, he was surrounded by those he loved and passed away peacefully. Although our hearts ache with the loss, we are comforted by a lifetime of happy memories spent with family and friends and by knowing he is in his eternal home in Heaven.
Michael Christopher Hagen Jr. was born June 30, 1959, in Seattle, the place where he would start his journey of life. He attended Auburn High School, where he was an all-state running back. He went on to play for the Walla Walla, Washington, Warriors and the University of Montana Grizzlies. Mike was named All Big Sky Conference selection and was inducted into the University of Montana Hall of Fame. He fulfilled one of his childhood dreams by signing and playing professional football for the Seattle Seahawks, San Antonio Gunslingers (USFL) and the Michigan Panthers (1983 USFL champions).
While at UM he met the love of his life, Ann Sanders. Just before getting married, Mike and Ann entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ. This has been the foundation of their life and family. They shared 34 amazing years together and were more in love now than every before.
Mike Hagen began his passion of sharing the gospel as a member of The Power Team; where he served as vice president for 14 years. In 2000 he founded the Strength Team Ministry, which has grown numerically and spiritually over the past 15 years. Under Mike's leadership the team has inspired millions of young people in schools across the United States as well as reaching multitudes in foreign countries around the world. Over 500, 000 people have made a commitment to Jesus Christ through Mike Hagen's Legacy.
Mike Hagen is survived by his wife, Ann Hagen; his sons, Michael Christopher Hagen III and Joshua Lewis Hagen; daughter, Lindsi Mari Hagen; his mother, Audrey Jean Rasmussen, and father, Jerry Rasmussen; sister, Shelly Hagen Lee; brothers, Eric Rasmussen, Brook Rasmussen and Jerry Rasmussen Jr.; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Christopher Hagen Sr.; and brother, Grady Rasmussen.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Clark Fork City Church (2811 Latimer St., Missoula, MT 59808). Prior to the service a public viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. A brief reception will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Mike Hagen's Strength Team Ministry to continue Mike's Legacy: Mike Hagen Strength Team, P.O.
