Mary Lou Witt, 80, of Missoula passed away on December 28, 2016 at Village Health Care. Mary was born October 16, 1936 in Hammond, Indiana. An only child of Ralph and Minnie Evans.
Mary married Del Witt in Kansas City, Missouri. After traveling around the country for Del’s work, they moved to Montana in 1966, making Missoula their permanent home, raising 2 daughters and 3 sons.
Mary enjoyed boating and fishing at flathead lake with family and friends, making new boating buddies from many different locations. She was very proud of her volunteer work in the gift shop at St. Patrick Hospital, where she was well liked and will be missed.
Mary worked in the family business with her husband and sons. Some of her hobbies included doing ceramics, oil painting, and collecting Hummingbird figurines. Mary loved hosting parties and dinners with family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Del.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Vicky Witt of Missoula, and Debbie (Rob) Emery of Lolo; 3 sons, Ken (Nora) Witt of Hanford, California, Dennis (Michelle) Witt of Stevensville, and Tony Witt of Darby; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Mary will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors at Glengarra Place.
A celebration of life will be held this spring. Details will be posted at a later date. Arrangements have been under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
