Mary Jo (Hunter) Jacobson, 83, of Missoula, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Village Health Care Center.
She was born on July 3, 1932 in Missoula to Genevieve and Walter Hunter. Her mother and father divorced before Mary Jo was three years old, but she lived with her mother and sister throughout her young life.
She earned her bible at the Methodist Church on Main Street where she was also a member of the Children's Sunshine Choir.
Mary Jo attended Central Grade School and graduated from Missoula County High School in 1950.
Mary Jo met Dale in Missoula and they were married for 54 years until Dale's death in 2014. They had no children.
She worked for State Farm and other insurance companies in Billings where her Husband's work took him, however, most of her life was spent in Missoula where she was happiest.
She is survived by her only sister, Lois Asch, Missoula; cousins Gary Bouck (Lydia) and their sons, of Alexandria, Virginia, John Bouck and his family of Spokane and John's daughter Joan Bouck of Washington. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill and all others.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 1:30pm at Garden City Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery next to Dale.
