Marshall Kent Delano, 75, of Missoula, died at his home Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, of endocrine cancer.
Marshall was born April 4, 1938, in Milo, Maine, to Millard and Isabel Delano. He spent most of his early years living in Marshfield, Mass., and Milo, where he enjoyed spending time with his grandparents, Frank and Ola Delano. After high school, he attended Tufts University in Somerville, Mass., where he got his degree in business. Marshall joined the U.S. Air Force after college, where he achieved the rank of Captain, and served in France, Germany, England and Thailand. After being honorably discharged in 1969, Marshall earned an MBA from Michigan State University.
In 1964, he married Jillian Boalth in London, and they had one daughter, Lisa. Together they lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, Attleboro, Mass., Warwick, R.I., and Sarasota, Fla., before settling in Missoula in 1993, where he owned Delano Investment Advisors.
In 2006, he married Annette Kastelitz, and they spent their time together traveling and enjoying the company of family and friends.
Marshall was an active member of the community in Missoula, serving as president of the board of directors for the Missoula Art Museum; president of the board of directors for the St. Patrick Hospital Foundation; board member of the Missoula Symphony Association; and a member and past president of the Missoula Sunrise Rotary Club. He enjoyed exploring nature and was an avid photographer, painter and camper.
Marshall is survived by his wife Annette of Missoula; daughter Lisa of Missoula; brother Kris and sister-in-law Judy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; stepson Greg Kastelitz (Wendy) of Tualatin, Ore.; stepson Scott Kastelitz (Kelly) of Bothell, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Cassidy, Sydney, Drew and Kate.

A celebration of Marshall's life is being planned for April in Missoula.
