MISSOULA ~ Marlene Boughton Urton, 85, of Missoula passed away peacefully and comfortably on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in her home with her children by her side.
She was born on February 1, 1936 in Great Falls, MT to Earl and Gertude Boughton. She graduated from Great Falls High School and entered the Navy where she served four years as a telecommunications specialist stationed at Memphis, TN and at North Island Naval Air Station in Coronado, CA. Marlene went on to become a Radiologic Technologist retiring eventually from Benefis Health in Great Falls, MT. After retirement, her and her husband, Charles Urton traveled living for a time in Nevada, Montana, North Carolina, and eventually returning to Montana.
Marlene was a late blooming artist who loved to paint with oils, make jewelry, and experiment with sculpting. Her children and many of their friends have numerous paintings of hers decorating their homes, treasures that will always remind them of her warm heart, witty humor, and artistic talent.
She is survived by her son Rich Lundy, Little River, SC, daughter Shelly Wilson, Missoula, MT, and several grandchildren.
No services are planned as the family will be holding a small private celebration of life in one of Marlene’s favorite spots, Wolf Creek canyon.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Salvation Army, AniMeals of Missoula, or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula.
