Obituary for Marjorie L Hagan

Marjorie Lois (Watson) Hagan passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct. 22, 2016. Marge was born May 21, 1929 to Walter and Beryl Watson in Jordan, MT. She attended her first year of elementary school there, moving with her family to Thompson Falls in 1936. She graduated from Thompson Falls High School in 1947.
Marjorie married Donald L. Olson in 1948; to this union four children were born, they later divorced. She continued to reside in Thompson Falls until moving to Missoula in 1967, where she worked as a cook at various restaurants including 4-B’s, TURF and the Mansion. In 1970 she married Junior Lloyd “Bud” Hagan and was able to resume her role as a home maker, where she enjoyed crafts, gardening and home decorating.
Marge and Bud spent many happy years together. Marge’s love for gardening turned a relatively bare lot into a beautiful garden that became the anchor for many generations of her family. They also enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling and RVing. The grandchildren all had their turns at accompanying them.
After Bud’s retirement they traveled extensively with their RV, visiting all but two of the states. She would recall many stories of their travels and truly “lit up” with remembering their adventures.
After Bud’s passing Marge stayed close to home but kept herself busy by volunteering as a cook at the Senior Citizen’s Center, being a member of DAR, and spending countless hours researching her ancestry and genealogy back to the “old country”. During this time she also continued to garden, making sure something was always blooming and spent many hours with her family, sharing her wit and wisdom.
Marge was preceded in death by her infant sons William Clyde and Walter Curtis, her parents Walter and Beryl Watson, brothers Levi Watson and Russell Watson, her sister Charlotte Shell, and her husbands Bud Hagan and Donald Olson.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Bernice Scott (Robert) of Spokane, WA and Dianna Fitch (Monte) of Jordan, MT; her sisters Irene Chenoweth of Trout Creek, Sharon Kraus of Magnolia, TX and Linda Browne (Dick) of Thompson Falls; grandchildren Melissa Jacobson (Dan), Sarah Pierce (Dennis), Christopher Cowgill (Stormy) and Rebecca Baker. She also leaves seven great grandchildren.

An inurnment will take place on Sun. Nov. 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Thompson Falls City Cemetery where she has chosen to be placed with her infant sons.
