Obituary for Marilyn Ross

MISSOULA - Marilyn R. Ross, of Missoula, passed away peacefully Monday, January. 5, 2009, in her apartment at Hunter’s Glen.





She was born in Duluth, Minn., on June 27, 1928, to Sam and Eka Ida Kay Barron.





Marilyn married Grady Gene Ross in Billings in 1949. He preceded her in death. They lived in Montana most of their married life. They owned and operated the Gambles Store in Philipsburg for many years and raised their four children there.





Marilyn is survived by Dan Ross (Debbie) of Medford, Ore., Judy Ross of Trego, Susan Ross (Dave Sell) of Missoula and John Ross (Annette) of Missoula. She is also survived by grandchildren, Seth Braach of Eureka, Aaron Braach of Las Vegas, Jonette Ross of Dillon, Lindsay Tran of Portland, Ore., and Amanda Lesher of Portland; and four great-grandchildren.





Marilyn was an avid walker and reader. She worked in medical offices and retail stores for many years. In retirement, she volunteered at schools, helping children learn to read and also in the short stay unit at the hospital. Marilyn loved to travel and visited Australia and Israel.





Cremation is under the direction of Garden City Funeral Home.





There will be no services at her request.
