Marilyn Rae (Klepper) Cyrus passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at her home surrounded by those who loved her after a long courageous battle with cancer. Marilyn was born to Donald and Vivian Klepper in Miles City on May 6, 1934, the oldest of six children. In 1946, the Klepper family moved to their ranch in Evaro.
In 1952, Marilyn graduated as an honor student from Missoula County High School. She attended Montana State University and Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., before embarking on a life filled with the joys of raising a family, career, and sharing life with her beloved husband Gene.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and wife, she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Eugene Cyrus; son Patrick McClain; daughter Vicki (Howard Jr.) Dorsey; granddaughter Carly (Dan) Roberts; grandsons, Patrick (Anne Marie) Dorsey, Casey McLain; and great granddaughter, Lila Dorsey; sisters, Diane (Jim) Brady, Vicki (Lorence) Simonsen; brothers, Don (Jan) Klepper, Greg (Marylene) Klepper and Stephen (Mariyah) Klepper. Marilyn is preceded in death by her son, Michael McLain and parents, Donald and Vivian Klepper.
