Marie Hornseth was born Oct. 7, 1922, to Ingmar and Gudrun Hornseth in Forest Grove. She passed away peacefully at the age of 95 at The Village Health Care in Missoula on Thursday, March 29, 2018.
Marie attended school in Lewistown. She later began her career with General Mills located in Great Falls. A few years later she accepted a job in Mountain View, California, as the secretary to the vice president of General Mills. She enjoyed a long career and retired after 37 years.
Upon retirement, she moved to San Diego to be closer to friends. She enjoyed the warm weather, traveling, delivering Meals on Wheels, and playing bridge. She also enjoyed watching golf, tennis and was an avid fan of the San Diego Padres.
In 2014 Marie moved to Missoula to be closer to family. She resided at The Grizzly Peak Retirement Community where she enjoyed playing bridge with friends. She was preceded in death by her half sisters Racheal Smith and Ingrid Hornseth, half brother Henry Hornseth, brothers Louis Hornseth (Josephine), Arne Hornseth, and sister Ruth Hornseth.
Her survivors include her son Bruce Carlson (Kerry), and three grandchildren, nephew Gary Hornseth (Jeanne) and family, and niece Darlene Wills (Mykel) and family.
As Marie requested, there will be no formal services. The family wishes to thank Liz and her caregivers at Grizzly Peak and the staff and CNAs at The Village Health Care Center for their excellent care of our mother and aunt.
