Marianne Stearns Lane

– Marianne Stearns Lane of Missoula passed away Monday, June 22, 2015, of natural causes.

The Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the family home in Clinton.

Marianne was born in Denver in 1926. She graduated from Santa Monica (California) High School. Marianne was married to Preston Lane in 1947; they were married 56 years before his death in 2003.

Marianne worked as a secretary for the Federal Land Bank in Ventura, California, for 18 years. She enjoyed golf (very much) and knitting, which her mother was very interested in. She was also actively involved in the Episcopal church.

Marianne is survived by sons, Jeffrey (Constance) and Stephen (Mary Ann); nephew, Ray Peterson; niece, Sheryl Stearns; grandchildren, Jennifer Lane and Mitchell Lane; and other family and friends.

Marianne was preceded in death by husband, Preston; brother, Joel; sister-in-law, Jeanne Peterson; niece, June Knudsen; and grandnephew, Kelly Knudsen.
