MISSOULA – Margaret E. (Kirkpatrick) Gerlach, 81, of Missoula, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Edgewood Vista of natural causes.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1931, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Harold (HB) and Eleanor (Marrs) Kirkpatrick.
On Dec. 27, 1952, she married Frederick L. Gerlach in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. They moved to Missoula in 1955 where she was a loving wife and mother.
Marg loved to go golfing, camping, fishing and gardening. For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Empire Fish, Sheehan Majestic and Dr. Robert Delaney D.D.S.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Marg took great pride in her family, friends and church.
Survivors include her husband, Fred of Missoula; two daughters and one son, Clara (Darnell) Kahler of Missoula, Bruce (Cherie) of Poison and Lori (Jim) Findlay of Jackson, Wyo. She is also survived by a brother, Robert (Mary) Kirkpatrick of Saltspring Island, B.C., Canada. Their family of nearly 61 years of marriage has grown to include four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will follow later this summer. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Missoula, or to a charity of your choice.
