Marcia Ann Larson, 83, of Missoula, passed away Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Community Medical Center due to natural causes surrounded by family.
She was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Westby to Hans O. and Mathea Hanson. Marcia grew up in the small northeastern town of Westby and graduated from high school in 1948. After graduation, she attended Dana College in Blair, Neb., returning to Montana to begin a long teaching career. She was a gifted teacher, teaching elementary school in Chester and Billings, followed by 30 years in Great Falls before retiring in 1990.
She married Roger Larson and together raised two sons, Gary and Brian. She enjoyed many years at the family cabin in Whitefish and relished world travel with her sisters and nieces. Her travels included seven countries in Europe, the island of Hawaii with trips to Japan and China. She had a love of music, playing the piano and singing in the church choir. She later divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Gary (Robin) Larson of Yaak and Brian (Kim) Larson of Missoula; three grandchildren, Kelan, Shay and Bryden Larson; sisters, Merna (Galen) Kolstad of Bozeman and Orlene (Bill) Stiles of Anaheim, Calif.; brothers, Ogden (Marge) Hanson and Hardy (Lynn) Hanson, both of Billings; along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
In addition, she leaves many friends at the Missoula Manor and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Cremation has taken place by the Cremation & Burial Society of the Rockies with interment in Westby in early summer
