Mabel Hall

Mabel Hall, 103, passed away in Missoula, MT on August 26, 2022.

Mabel was born in Jamestown, NY on September 18, 1918 to Thure and Vera (Svensson) Anderson, who came from Sweden. She married Arthur Nordine in 1939 had one child together, who died at birth. They eventually divorced.

She then married Carl Zeller. Carl passed away of cancer many years later.

In 1972, Mabel married Bud Hall and they were married for 37 years.

Mabel’s career began as a photo finisher and photographer for about nine years before becoming a payroll clerk for a furniture company with over 250 employees and retiring after 23 years with a janitorial supply company as the bookkeeper/payroll clerk.

While most of her life was spent in New York, she lived in Florida for a couple of years. After her husband passed away, she moved to Choteau, MT to be closer to her sister, but unfortunately, her sister passed away only six months after she had moved. After three years in Choteau, she moved to Missoula to be close to her nephew and his family. Mabel moved into Clarkfork Riverside in 2003 and worked security there for three years.

Although Mabel sewed nearly all her life, she took up quilting in her later years. She also loved gardening and animals. One of the most memorable events of Mabel’s life was her 100th birthday party. Family and friends came from Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, and Washington to celebrate with her.

Mabel is preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister Daisy Marshall and nephew Raymond Noyd.

Mabel is survived by her nephew Gerald (Lorraine) Noyd and their children, Martin Noyd (children: Keegan Noyd and Grace Noyd), Michelle Noyd and Colleen Foust (children: Kyrie Halden and Cody Schaef), and her nephew Raymond's children: John Noyd (children: Jim Noyd and Dan Noyd), Debbie Manas (children: Kelly Luinstra and Erin Wells), Laurie Morris (children: Jamie Morris, Jeremy Morris, Gena Morris-Ries), and Erica Lill (children: Tiffany St. John and Darrian Lill).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Animeals or The Missoula Humane Society.

A Memorial service will be held at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula on Saturday, September 24th at 11:00 am. A livestream will be available below.

Inurnment will take place in the family plot In Jamestown, NY.
