Lynne (Linda) Marie Summers Kelly, 62 of Missoula passed away May 1st, 2021 in her home with her sisters by her side. She was born July 13, 1958 to Donald and Meredith Summers in Missoula. She was the 2nd daughter born of their 6 girls.
Lynne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was the United Way Poster Child in her youth, the Missoula Crippled Children poster girl for the Missoula Auto Racers in the 70’s, as well as first runner up in the Ms Wheelchair MT pageant. She was a peer advocate for Summit Independent Living, where she had the opportunity to go to the State Capital to advocate for the disabled.
She was actively involved in Breast Cancer Awareness, a cause inspired by losing her mother to it in 1990. She had a passion for music, writing poetry, and enjoying nature. Lynne especially loved Penny and Bella, her sweet little dogs and constant companions who were by her side in her last moments. She has been released from the struggles and pain of living with Cerebral Palsy all her life.
Lynne is proceeded in death by her sister Donna Jean, her mother and father, Meredith and Donald Summers. Survivors include LeAnn (Doug) of Arizona, Becky (Max) of Missoula, Debby (Richard) of Hayden ID, and Barbi (Matt) of UT and Step Mother Carol Summers of Missoula.
Graveside service will be held at Missoula Cemetery Friday, May 7, 2021, at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to summitilc.org.
