Lynne Ellen Davis, 69, of Missoula, passed away at home on Friday, Oct. 5th. Lynne was born in Arlington, Virginia on June 24, 1949 to Joyce and Harold Tillman. She graduated from McLean High School in 1968 and fulfilled her lifelong passion for cooking by graduating with an associate’s degree in food service management and a culinary arts certificate from The University of Montana in 1998. She worked at the Good Food Store for many years and probably one of the first customers when the Good Food Store was still in downtown Missoula.
After living in San Diego and Boulder briefly after high school, Lynne moved back to Virginia where she met Andy Spofford. Together they moved to Missoula in 1976 and had their only child Justin in 1977. Lynne and Justin moved back to Virginia in 1988. After four years, Lynne decided to move back to Missoula. She always loved Montana and felt that it was her home.
Lynne met her “Ricky,” Rick Davis in 1997. Lynne and Rick married in January of 2002. Lynne loved nothing more than entertaining, cooking, listening to music and working in their beautiful yard. They would host numerous summer cookouts, and their Halloween parties were legendary. Her other love was for the outdoors. She loved camping and trips to the many Montana lakes during the summer.
Lynne is survived by her husband Rick; sisters, Diane and Chris; son, Justin; stepson, Adam; stepdaughter, Holly; four grandkids; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends.
Memorial donations may be made in Lynne’s name to The Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
