Lyle Herbert Fost, 62, of Missoula, passed away surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015. He was born to Ralph and Ellen Fost on March 29, 1953. He attended and graduated from Sentinel High School in 1972, then graduated from the culinary institute at the Vo-tech. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. His greatest love was his family and he liked to fish.
He is preceded in death by his mother Ellen Rogers; his father Ralph Fost; brother Ward Ohl; sister Carol Cartwright; stepfather Jess Rogers and his beloved puppy, Rollo.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 17 years, Vera Fost of Missoula; son David (Denise) Hunter of Missoula; daughter Becky (Shanette) Lane of Miles City; sister Sandi (Bob) Perry of Missoula) and brother Ron (Marni) Rogers of Missoula; grandchildren, Raven Windsor of Miles City, Dalton Hunter of Missoula, Terry and Taylor Furhman and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m. A small memorial service and potluck reception will be held in the Home Arts Building at the Missoula Fairgrounds immediately following.
