Louise Terhune

Louise Terhune left this world peacefully at her home in Missoula with her daughter Kathy by her side on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014. She was born June 20, 1922, in Jamestown, New York. She spent her childhood in upstate New York, and then moved with her family to northern New Jersey, in 1941. She spent more than 40 years in Cresskill, New Jersey, before making the move west to Missoula in 2004.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband Bertholf; her son Brian and brothers, Butch, Freddy and Bruno. She is survived by her son Kevin Terhune, his wife Terri; granddaughters, Lauren and Jenna of Dumont, New Jersey; and her daughter Kathy Terhune, her husband Les Parsells of Ovando. Louise is also survived by sisters, Margaret of Ormond Beach, Florida, Jill (Hugh) of Columbia, Connecticut, Mary of Commack, New York; and brother Chap (Alba) of Washington Township, New Jersey. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many good friends in both western Montana and back in New Jersey.

Louise was a rare person, who treated everyday as a gift, living each day to the fullest, never taking for granted a single moment of her time on earth. She was blessed with a long and healthy life, and was an inspiration to all who met her with her positive attitude and love for life. She will be missed by many, but she will once again be dancing in heaven. While we all will miss you Lou, we are all the better for having had you in our lives.
