Louella Shellenberger (Schrader), of Missoula, passed away at her home under hospice care on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the age of 87.
Louella was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on April 13, 1934. She was one of 12 children born to the late Clarence and Emma (Feltman) Schrader.
On August 20th, 1951, she married Chester Shellenberger in Hagerstown, MD at the age of 17. The couple moved to Montana in 1959 with their 3 children: daughter Linda (Gary) of Missoula, son Ed (Laurie), and daughter Norma (Ralph) of Missoula. After their move to Montana, they were blessed with 2 more children to complete the family of 7; Elizabeth (Bernard) of Columbia, SC and Joe of Missoula. They were married for 39 years before divorcing on June 6th, 1991.
She had many jobs over the years which included, Royal Manor nursing home, Tripps Cafe in Lolo, Bugs BBQ, and had been a cook at the University of Montana. Her last two jobs were at Champion Mill and Stimson Mill in Bonner where she retired from. She enjoyed going to flea markets and crocheting. She was also a great cook who loved making big meals whenever she got the chance. She always had delicious freshly baked goodies for her grandchildren to enjoy whenever any were over. Her baked treats were the best!
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Renninger of Thompsontown, PA, sister, Mary Campbell of Newport, PA, and brother, Palmer Schrader of Millerstown, PA, her five children, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; James and Calvin Schrader, six sisters; Gloria Fosselman, Virginia Keisling, Ruth Swartz, Susan Gardner, Margaret Rollason, and Joyce Boyer.
Cremation has already taken place. There will be no memorial service.
