Lorene M. Rothfusz

Lorene Rothfusz, born Lorene Mathilda Entzel, entered this world June 15, 1933, & departed this world, joining her dear Heavenly Father, March 30, 2013. Lorene was the first-born child of Henry & Mathilda Entzel, followed by seven treasured siblings. She is survived by three brothers & two sisters; Arnie Entzel (Jan-Coon Rapids, MN), Marjean Hill (Ed-Columbus, OH), Larry Entzel (Kathy-Minot, ND), Don Entzel (Val-Mandan, ND), Fern Rothfusz (Oscar-Georgetown, TX).

Lorene began her life in Dunn Center, ND; the family later moved to Mandan ND & she spent her childhood growing up on the cherished family farm. While attending Capitol Commercial College in Bismarck, she met & soon married Leonard Rothfusz. The young couple started a family in Bismarck & later moved to Hebron, ND to raise their growing brood. Leonard & Lorene owned Auto Implement in Hebron & spent their years in ND until the family moved to Havre, MT in August of 1981.

In October of 1999, Lorene moved to Missoula MT to be closer to her children & grand children. Although her life called on her to fulfill many roles & perform many jobs, the roles of mother & grandmother, & the job of homemaker, were the ones she treasured most dearly. She loved each child & grandchild in her own very special & giving way. She never asked of others more than she was willing to give of herself.

Lorene was a trusted friend to many, including her children. We will miss the clasp of her hand in ours, the understanding & reassurance of her motherly ear, the wisdom & guidance of her words. She created a place for us to feel comfortable & call home wherever she lived. We will miss her more than words can say.

Lorene was preceded in death by Leonard Rothfusz; her parents, Henry
and Mathilda Entzel; infant sister, Evelyn; brother, Alfred; and
nephew, Clint Entzel. Lorene is survived by her daughter Lori Rothfusz (Bozeman), Debra Sommer (Craig Rayle-Missoula), Brian Rothfusz (Sherri-Lewiston, ID), Kathy Schneider (Perry-Missoula), Sandra Richardson (Rusty-Missoula) & seventeen beautiful grandchildren; may she rest in peace.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a commerative service at 7:00 p.m. all at Garden City Funeral Home at 1705 W. Broadway in Missoula. Funeral services will begin Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Chruch located at 3718 Rattlesnake Drive in Missoula.
