– Lois Owen passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, June 5, 2014. Lois was born in Forsyth to Guy L . and Blanche H. Hough on Nov. 15, 1933.
Lois graduated from Forsyth High School. She married Cecil R. Owen on Nov. 28, 1954, in Forsyth. Lois and Cecil enjoyed 55 years of marriage. They lived in many Montana cities as Cecil pursued his career as a state highway engineer, settling down in Superior.
They enjoyed fishing at Flathead Lake and had many adventures together while Cecil was active with the Lions Club. Most of their time was spent together with their son Jay. They were a small family deeply devoted to one another and rarely went more than a few days without spending time together.
Lois was a fabulous cook. She had a playful sense of humor and loved to tease. Despite her tiny stature of 5 feet, Lois was a force to be reckoned with. She was generous with her love and open with her opinions and ideas. Lois was a constant delight and amazement to Cecil and Jay. She gave them every ounce of her love and devotion. Lois will be deeply missed.
Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil. She is survived by her son, Jay Owen of Missoula; two sisters, Vanda Peterson of Fountain Valley, California, and Lynnda Langston, Snohomish, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
