Lois Adler, 86 of Missoula, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 of natural causes.
She was born in Emerald, WI on January 12, 1928, to Richard and Wilhelmina (Gillis) Kamm. She graduated from the College of St. Benedict, St Joseph, MN in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Upon Graduation she taught school for two years in Gresham, WI and one year in Roberts, WI.
Lois married Fred Adler on August 7, 1952 in River Falls, WI. They made their home in Minneapolis, MN where Fred was employed as a Cereal chemist with the Pillsbury Company for 34 years.
Fred and Lois were blessed with four children. Lois was a fortunate stay at home mom. Upon Fred's retirement in 1986 they moved to New Ulm, MN for 5 years and then moved to Rapid City, SD in 1994. In 2013 they moved to Missoula to be closer to their grandchildren.
Lois was a lifelong devoted Catholic. She was a lovely lady who enjoyed her family, many friends and her many crafts. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that will be dearly missed by everyone who was blessed by her touch.
Lois is survived by her husband, Fred, their children; Diane Adler and her husband Wayne Carrier (DiWayne), Gillete, WY, Carol Ceynowa and her husband Tim, Luverne, MN, Mark Adler and his wife Diane, Fridley, MN, and David Adler and his wife Kerrie Ghenie, Missoula, MT, six grandchildren; Nic, Alison, Andy, Rob, Kian, and Kendall, two great grandchildren, Jenaya and Brynna, and sister in-law Mary Kamm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Doris; and her two brothers, David and Richard.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 27 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, the Rosary from 6:00 to 6:30 pm, and sharing from 6:30 to 7:00 pm at Garden City Funeral Home, Missoula, MT. Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, January 28 at 10:30 am at Saint Francis Xavier Church with Father Chris Weekly as the Celebrant. Interment will be held at Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery immediately following the service. There will be a reception following interment at Saint Francis Xavier Church.
