Logan Nicholas-Owen Charles, 18, of Missoula, became a heavenly angel on Sunday, February 12, 2017 surrounded by loving family and friends.
Logan was born on December 11, 1998, in Missoula, to Brent Charles and Carla Whitaker- Charles. He entered this world with quite an impact, being 4 months premature and weighing just over one pound. Defying the odds, Logan fought his way to be a happy, healthy baby and began his magical journey to being the miracle we all know, love and adore today. Shortly into his young life his parents would be blessed with the news that Logan had Down Syndrome. Throughout the following elementary years, Logan would be blessed with so many amazing teachers and friends that would enrich his life with kindness and knowledge. Logan attended Big Sky High School. There he would participate in Special Olympics Basketball, Track, and Soccer. Special Olympics was a favorite time of Logan’s. He loved the gathering of friends and family and always cheered for every competitor. His time at Big Sky would bring him his best friends and everlasting relationships. Logan also worked at LoLo Creek Steakhouse where he relished his duties and co-workers. He loved camping, swimming and traveling. In 2013 Logan would become a big brother. His little sister Priscilla, immediately became the light of his life. He took no greater pride in anything than being her big brother. She is his true love. The bond and love that Logan and his father share is immeasurable, Logan got his strength and confidence from the incredible relationship, they were the best of friends, the TWO were ONE!
Logan is the sunshine that brightens the world. He touched every person who met him and he is an example to all. He loved unconditionally, and only knew kindness, compassion and love. With a smile and laughter that is incomparable, Logan made the world a better place. He was the essence of pure love. To know Logan was to love him. He is now dancing in his momma-in heaven’s loving arms. His spirit continues on in his best friend and loving father, Brent, his loving momma Mickenzie, the love of his life and sister Priscilla, several sets of grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, his best friends, and countless people he touched.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in Logan’s name to the Montana Down Syndrome Association or Special Olympics Montana. A celebration of our angel will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Dennison Theater U of M campus.
