Obituary for Lisa Jones

MISSOULA - Beloved wife and mother Lisa Renee Jones, 42, of Missoula, passed away suddenly from injuries suffered in a hiking accident Saturday December. 6, 2008.

She was born October. 7, 1966, in Syracuse, Kan. As a young girl, she lived with her family in various Air Force base locations, including Ohio, California and New Mexico. She attended Alamogordo High School in New Mexico. She then attended New Mexico State University, where she graduated with a master’s in business administration and a minor in psychology.

On August. 6, 1990, she married Greg Jones in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The couple lived in Alamogordo, N.M., where she worked for Neptune Aviation as chief financial officer and as a professor of mathematics at New Mexico State University branch at Holloman Air Force Base. Upon moving to Missoula in 1997, her focus became her home and children. She resumed her professional career in the field of homebuilding with Hoyt Homes in Missoula. She enjoyed all the individuals associated with the homebuilding industry in this community. Other activities while in Missoula included skiing, biking and hiking. She cherished every moment spent in the great outdoors of Montana in awe of God’s creations.

She loved playing music with her children while often accompanying them on the violin and piano. She loved the many travels the family had been able to enjoy together and especially a recent trip to Spain with her daughter. Lisa was active in supporting her children in the YMCA competitive swimming program.

Lisa will be missed by loving, surviving family members, husband, Greg; daughter, Megan, and son, Kyle, all of Missoula; parents, Frank and Ann Connor of Las Cruces, N.M.; sister, Carolyn Connor of Los Alamos, N.M.; and brother, John Connor of Los Angeles.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December. 12, at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church followed by a reception at the Doubletree Hotel, 100 Madison St., Missoula.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Loyola Catholic School would be appreciated by Lisa’s family.
