In the memory of a Family Man….
Lester Dale Feistner, 77, of Missoula passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, peacefully at his home.
Lester, son of John and Lydia (Lutz) Feistner, was born March 19, 1944 in Townsend, Montana. He lived on a farm with his family until he was 19. After the farm he did some automotive work. He joined the military where he served for six years. Lester was united in marriage with Judy Spatzierath on June 5, 1964 and moved to Missoula to begin their family.
He was a member of several clubs around Missoula. The Missoula Snow Goers, John Deere Tractor Club, and he was a very active member in the Auction Club, that was not even a club. He is also a member of the First Lutheran Church in Missoula.
Lester was a man that enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, camping, tinkering, puzzles, and croquet.
He loved singing to all his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He taught them all the same song. It was a little song about a dog named, Jack. He was a huge storyteller. If you were lucky enough to have spent time with him, then you know you have a story with laughter and memories with him. Lester was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
Lester is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Feistner; sons, Dave Feistner and Rod Feistner; daughter, Rhonda Feistner; grandchildren, Nick, Riley, Brandon, Justin, Jared, Brittney, and Alexis Virga; 6 great grandchildren with one on the way; and a sister, Lois Pruitt.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lydia Feistner; brother, Leon Feistner and sister, Arlis Feistner.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 30, 2021 in the Western Montana State Veteran Cemetery (1911 Tower St., Missoula, MT 59804). There will be a pot-luck style barbeque following the service. Please send outdoor plants in lieu of flowers due to allergies.
