Lesla J. Olson

Missoula – Lesla Juyne Olson, 70, of Missoula, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Florence Haggen Home Care of natural causes.
She was born on May 20, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Jack and Lurlee Smith. As a young girl she and her parents moved from Texas to North Fork, Idaho. From there they moved to Hughes Creek and then to Hamilton, Montana. During her teenage years she enjoyed roller skating and going to youth group at Hamilton First Assembly. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1960.
On November 5, 1960 she married Donald Olson in Missoula. The couple has lived in Missoula for 52 years. She gave birth to her first daughter Julie, in January 1962 and her second daughter Angela in November 1968.
She was a member of Christian Life Center for 52 years. She enjoyed horseback riding in her younger years and playing guitar. She also enjoyed friends, traveling and was especially a big Grizzly football fan. She loved planting flowers, collecting rocks and feeding birds. She had a special love in her heart for her entire family.
Throughout the years she and her husband, Don, traveled to several out of state Grizzly football games. They both especially like going to Canyon Lands of Utah.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with friends and opening her home up to bible studies. She loved music, antique furniture and anything vintage. She truly loved life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Don, of Missoula; two daughters and their families, Julie Lindenmuth (Dean) of Absarokee and Angela Stenslie (Marc); along with 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.at Christian Life Center, 3801 S. Russell, with Pastor Dave Phillips officiating. Pallbearers will be her 6 grandsons. No graveside services will be held. A reception will follow the service.
