Leroy H. Westcott, 72, of Potomac, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at home after a two-year courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 11, 1942, in Everett, Washington, to Beverly (Boswell) and Leroy Westcott Sr. He grew up on the family farm in Snohomish, Washington. He attended Central School and later Snohomish High School.
In 1963 he was drafted into the Army, where he was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged four years later. After serving in the military, he was employed by Boeing where he was the manager of the machine shop in the Everett plant, retiring in 1998.
He had an interest in classic cars, fishing, hunting, collecting coins and stamps, as well as flying airplanes.
Leroy was a great dad, pa, buddy and best friend to those of us who are left behind. He was always there to lend an ear, shoulder to lean on or just being there with open arms to give a hug. Most of all, he was a protector to the very end. His passing has left a tremendous void in our family that will never be replaced. Although we can no longer see him, he will always be there, tucked away safely within our hearts. We will remember the wonderful memories we've made, the lessons he taught and the love that he had for us all. We have one more angel watching over us now. He is our hero; we will not forget.
He was preceded in death by his parents Beverly and Leroy, brother Raymond, sister Celeste and grandma Inez.
Survivors include his daughter Kim and her family of Washington; son Jeff and his family of Washington; daughter Nina and her family of Potomac; as well as four special people, granddaughter Shaianne and friends Karen, Austin and Michaela.
Cremation has taken place. A potluck celebration of Leroy's life will take place at his daughter's house in Potomac on Saturday, July 19, at 2 p.m
