Leone Jane Wieder, 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 7, 2020.
She was born October 15, 1932, in Shawano, Wisconsin to Lorenzo Huble and Myrtle May Starks. She was the 8th born out of 10 children and the last one living of her siblings/generation. She lived in Wisconsin until she came west, first to Salt Lake, Utah and then to Potomac, Montana. She always told her grandma, that she was going to go to the mountains and Montana and marry a cowboy.
On June 12th, 1952, she married the love of her life- Robert A. Wieder. They lived and worked the ranch at Potoma,c until January 1969. They moved from the ranch to New Mexico, and then returned to Montana and lived in the Missoula area until moving to the Arlee area in 1979.
She was a very talented lady, she broke horses, trained dogs, sang and yodeled, drove semi, was an artist, and there weren't many musical instruments that she couldn't play. She may have completed many other accomplishments, that have been left out. She always said- if you want to do something- go and do it, give it your all and be the best that you can be.
She loved her family with all of her heart. She loved family gatherings and never missed one, if she was able to attend.
She would help anyone that needed help and give them anything she had, if she thought they needed it more than she did. If she found an animal that needed help, she would do her best, to help it.
Some people bring home stray animals- mom would bring home stray people- if they were down and out and needed a helping hand, along with the stray animals. She would talk to anyone and never stayed a stranger very long, when in a crowd of people.
She is Survived by daughter Artha (Jody) Malatare; son Russell (Julie) Wieder of Arlee; daughters, Debra (Gary) Lucht and Sharon Wieder of Missoula; son Bradley (Julia Buffo) Wieder of Charlo; daughter Lola (Dan) Skillman and Daughter-in law Roxeen Wieder all of Helena; daughter Melody (Ivan) Thompson of Idaho; 23 grandchildern; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
