Leo George Even

MISSOULA – Leo George Even passed peacefully at the age of 92 at St. Patrick Hospital on March 6, 2013. His immediate family was by his side.

Leo was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Lemmon, S.D., to George and Mary Even. One of 10 children, he grew up working on the family farm and attending a one-room schoolhouse. He moved to Missoula, where he married Virginia Ann Luedke on May 15, 1959, and had two children. He was employed for many years by the Big Broadway in Missoula.

His passion in life was tending his expansive garden. He was known in his neighborhood for showing up at neighbors' front doors generously offering bags of produce.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Even of Missoula; son Jeff Even (wife Marilyn Gisser and daughters Alicia and Melissa); and daughter Lesley McDaniel (husband Brent McDaniel and daughters Jasmine and Olivia).
