-Lavelle Teague Lewis, 92, passed away of natural causes on Sat. March, 6, 2015 at St. Patrick Hospital. Lavelle was born on June 25, 1922 in her grandfather's farmhouse near Wickes, AR. The family moved to Macomb, IL for her father's job when Lavelle was one year old. The depression forced them to move several more times in the next few years.
When Lavelle was 16 years old she moved to Texarkana, TX and worked in a candy factory. It was in Texarkana where she met Glenn Teague and they were married. Lavelle and Glenn then moved west to Sweet Home, OR where Glenn worked for George Reller in his lumber mill. Two weeks before the end of World War II, Glenn and Lavelle had a baby girl and named her Glenda. Glenn, Lavelle, and Glenda then moved to Wrangell, AK to help the Rellers start a lumber mill and then on to Trout Creek, MT to build another mill. The family remained in Trout Creek, where Glenn passed away in 1983. Lavelle eventually remarried Gale Lewis and remained in Trout Creek for 15 more years, before Gale was killed in a car accident. Lavelle stayed in the Trout Creek, Thompson Falls area for a few more years, until she moved to Missoula to be closer to Glenda and family.
Lavelle resided at The Springs (almost 10 years) retirement center until she passed away on March 6, 2015. Lavelle was the second oldest of 4 girls. She is survived by her sister Betty Brown of Eureka, CA; her daughter Glenda (Bill) Guldseth of Missoula; two grandchildren Todd (Amy) Guldseth of Butte, Karla (Shawn) Smith of Helena; 5 great grandchildren, Bryson Smith and Brittany Smith of Helena, Kale Guldseth, Ali Guldseth and Gage Guldseth of Butte.
