Obituary for Larry Dean Peters

Larry D. Peters, 64, of Missoula, passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at St. Patrick Hospital due to a long battle suffered from complications from surgery.

He was born in Missoula on May 19, 1950. He was the son of June Van Pelt and Harold Bramson and Nord and Ruth Peters. He was raised in Missoula and lived in Salmon, Idaho, for a period of his life. Larry attended school in Missoula and Salmon.

Larry's passion was the outdoors and worked the majority of his life in it. He worked most of his life as a logger working all phases of the field, but the greatest joy was when he was packing and guiding and he actually got to take John Wayne for a hunt in the Bob Marshall. Larry always had great stories and tales of his hunting adventures and they usually included any kind of fouled up mess possible.

Larry enjoyed animals and had worked on several ranches throughout the state and Idaho. He also had great tales about his adventures there.

He always was a joker and if he could get your face red, he was happy. One of the most important things to Larry was his family. He had a very large immediate and extended family and was the rock that kept them all grounded. He enjoyed helping people and always had a good story.

He was preceded death by all of his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Mary. He has 12 brothers and sisters, Sally, Barb, Bonnie, Terry, Mark, David (Tanya), Colleen, James, Bobbi Jo, Donald (Lois) Kibler and John Riel. He had 12 children, Susan (Royce), Brian, Sara, Kelcey (Patricia), Johnathan, Jennisea, Jorion, Jesus, Julyan, Pascual, Cipriano. He is survived by 16 grandchildren. Larry's extended family is too large to list, but you all were in his heart and will forever be there. He would want everyone to remember that death ends life not a relationship.

Services will be held at Garden City Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. with a potluck gathering after the service.
