Larry Keith Israel passed away Feb. 3, 2017 at St. Patrick Hospital.
H was born April 15, 1929 in Molt Montana to James Lewis Israel and Erma McClure. He and his only brother Jim Israel were raised in Molt and Broadview and grew up on a wheat farm. He attended high school in Billings.
On Jan. 17 1948 he married his sweetheart Caroline Church. They loved going to country dances together. To this union three children were born; Larry Keith, Jr., James Dean, and Laurie JoAnn.
The family moved to Missoula in 1954 where Larry attended the University of Montana. He worked all his life, and in Missoula he worked at the Bonner Mill, Taber’s Truck Stop, then went into business for himself, first partnering in Missoula Truck Sales then owner of Montana Truck Parts. He even helped paint the Higgins Street Bridge. Larry loved going to the shop every day.
Throughout his life Larry was an avid sportsman, he was a hunter, fisherman and skeet shooter. He was also active in the Shriners. Larry was happy on a fishing stream or a grandchild on his lap.
He is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Carol, son Dean Israel, daughter Laurie (Ralph) Rambo and daughter in law Lanna Nelson, 9 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery on Saturday Feb. 11 at 1PM. Due to inclement weather, please meet in the chapel. Following the service there will be a gathering at the family home, everyone is welcome.
