Larry Lyle Hollinder

Larry Lyle Hollinder, 68, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in his home after succumbing to a two year battle with a serious illness. 

He was born on December 26, 1955, in Anaconda, to Lyle and Leola Hollinder. He attended Hellgate High School, where he participated in track, basketball, and choir. He also ran track in college, at the University of Montana, where he graduated with a degree in anthropology.

On May 14, 1984, he married Cecilia Williams Gunderson and had a daughter, as well as gaining two stepsons. They lived in Missoula, until moving to Florence in 1993. 

He enjoyed growing flowers and shrubs, bird watching, nature walks, scenic drives around Montana, and camping. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather who tried to brighten people’s day with a joke or kind word.

Survivors include his dedicated wife, Cecilia; daughter, Heather (Yong); stepsons and their families, Eric (Verna) and Jeff (Debra); and four sisters and their families, Leilani (Rod), Lenora (Larry), Linda (Owen), and Laura (Randy).

A Celebration of Life will be held at Garden City Funeral Home on Sunday, September 8th at 1pm.
