Kenneth Jonas

Kenneth “Ken” Allen Jonas, 62, of Florence, MT, passed away on October 18, 2024, with family by his side. 

Ken’s life was one of love, loss, and resilience. Born in Juneau, Alaska, in 1961, he spent his childhood in Anchorage before moving to Montana in 1976. In 1980, he met Donna Schroeder, the woman who captured his heart. Their joy was amplified in 1981 with the birth of their daughter, Amity Christine. Tragically, Donna passed away unexpectedly in 1982, leaving a profound impact on Ken’s life. Though they never married, Ken’s love for her remained throughout his years.

After Donna’s passing, Ken had several companions but never truly settled down.

He was a dedicated worker, spending many years in road construction and as an auto mechanic. Ken had a deep passion for classic cars and fast machines, always having a project car in the works.

Ken made his home in Florence, Montana, where he continued his work as a mechanic at Dyna Tune until his passing. Outside of work, Ken found joy in the Montana outdoors, enjoying activities such as fishing, and gold panning. He also enjoyed playing pool, watching old western films, rock tumbling/finishing and hanging with his buddies, always finding joy in the simple things. 

He is survived by his daughter, Amity (Waylon) Lindsley of Van Buren Arkansas, his three grandsons: Spencer (Victoria) Huston of Kingman, Arizona, Tanner Huston and Jordan Lindsley both of Van Buren, Arkansas. His memory will also live on through his mother, Kay Lease of Yuma, Arizona; brothers Don (Cindy) Folsom and Bud Jonas of California; sister Karen (Glen) Fisk of Lewistown, Montana; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his love, Donna Schroeder; his father, James Lease; brother, Mike Folsom; and nephews, Dustin and James Folsom. 

At this time, no services are planned, although a portion of Ken’s ashes will be laid to rest in Battleview, North Dakota, alongside his love Donna.
