Kenneth Leroy Chilcote was born on June 26, 1932 in Missoula, to Byron and Emma Chilcote.
He attended Whittier Grade School, and graduated from Hellgate High School in 1950, after high school he joined the air force, and married Barbara Klapwyk after boot camp.
After 4 years in the air force, he attended Montana State University in Bozeman, Majoring in electrical engineering, then returned to Missoula, where he began a construction business. He built many homes in the Missoula area.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Blanche Chilcote, his wife, Barbara Chilcote, his brother-in-law Jack Dobbins, and his grandson, Connor Chilcote.
Ken is survived by his wife, Elaine Chilcote, his children, Daniel Chilcote (Suzanne), James Chilcote (Debbie), Diane Figgins, Mark Chilcote (Debbie), his step children Cy Mohland (Michelle), Jamie Hale (Harvey), his sister Elsie Dobbins, his grandchildren, step grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
After his family, his love was airplanes, and he owned several. During the Korean war, Ken was a crew member on a B-36 Bomber.
There will be a Celebration service held Friday August 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 2853 Briggs St. Missoula MT. 59803. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church.
Then, followed by a graveside service at the Western Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. at 1911 Tower St. Missoula MT. 59804
