Kathryn Helen Clute

April 26, 1939 — July 18, 2022

Kathryn Helen Townsend Clute, 83, passed away peacefully July 18, 2022, at her home in Grizzly Peak Independent Living of natural causes.
She was born on April 26, 1939, in Missoula, MT to Roy and Matilda (Hirning) Townsend. She graduated from Missoula County High School in 1957.

Kathryn worked for Fidelity Real Estate from 1976-2016 as an office manager and bookkeeper. She was very detail oriented and made sure everything was done properly.

In her spare time, she was an avid quilter. For years she would take Wednesdays off to meet and work with fellow quilters of Missoula Quilts 4 Kids. Together they provide over 100 quilts each month to city police, sheriff deputies, fire personnel, first responders, the Missoula Poverallo, and hospital staff “for kids who need a hug.” When she had downsize from her home on Cooper St., she donated her highly organized fabric collection and sewing supplies to Missoula Quilts 4 Kids.
She loved reading books, doing dot to do, and word find. Along with crocheting, hooked rugs, needle point, sewing her own clothes, cross stitch and made beautiful wall hangings with seed beads. All in all, Kathryn was a very talented, giving lady.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Matilda and her husband H. J. Clute. Survivors include her brother Lloyd Townsend of Everette, WA; daughter Cheryl Loewen of Missoula; sons Kevin Clute and Daniel Clute of Missoula; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
We are grateful tot eh staff of Grizzly Peak, her steadfast friend, and her faithful caregiver Liz who was there for her until she passed peacefully.

Memorial contributions on Kathryn’s behalf may be made to Missoula Quilts 4 Kids (contact Debbie Gross (406) 542-2006) and would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements are under the direction of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory, Missoula, Montana.
