Kathryn B. Bestwick

Kathryn B. "Kay" Bestwick, 95, of Missoula passed away at her home on September 4, 2014.
Kay was born to William and Beatrice Bestwick on June 12, 1919 in Missoula. She spent her childhood in Alberton, MT and attended Alberton schools graduating high school there and then attending business college in Missoula. The majority of Kay's career was spent in Missoula with Missoula County Public Schools. She was a member and great supporter of the sorority Beta Sigma Phi. She held chair positions in Beta Sigma Phi and often attended their conventions. Kay also loved to read and took part in many book clubs. She loved the outdoors and spent many hours in her gardens. She enjoyed needlepoint and her volunteer work. She was a volunteer at Community Medical Center for many many years.
Kay was known to be a women with drive and ambition and always seemed to have direction in her life. She was always busy and was friendly and pleasant to be around.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents William and Beatrice and brother Roy.
She is survived by her brother Warren (Glenette) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Garden City Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
Kay's family wishes to thank all of her friends, neighbors and caregivers, who over the past many years who have helped take such wonderful care of her.
