Kathleen Masters was born on March 28, 1943, to Gerald and Sylvia Cox in Superior, Nebraska. She left for her eternal home with dignity and grace on February 7, 2025 in Missoula, Montana to be reunited with her family in Heaven who anxiously awaited her arrival. Kathleen was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Superior, Nebraska. She spent her early years in the Superior Community graduating from Superior High School with the Class of 1961. In the fall of 1962, she met the love of her life, Roger Masters from Stratton, NE. They were married on March 7, 1963 and began their life in Grand Island, NE. Roger worked for The Bureau of Reclamation and they soon found themselves transferred to Bangkok, Thailand where their son, Mark was born. After spending two years in Thailand and before returning to the States, they took the "long route" home via Denmark, where Kathy was instrumental in reuniting her Denmark family with her USA family, a bond that continues to this day. After returning home, they were blessed with two more children, Christine and Bryan.
Kathleen worked for the Bureau of Fish and Wildlife and later with the Department of Energy, retiring in 1995. However, her true passion was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Nothing made her happier than spending time with them which always included a fabulous meal usually followed by one of her well-remembered cherry pies. While still living in Billings, MT Kathy and Roger built their beloved cabin in Seeley Lake, MT where family and friends were always welcome and where she could use her best talent of loving and nurturing everyone around her.
Waiting in Heaven are her parents and her precious son, Bryan. She will be greatly missed by all who survive her including her husband Roger, children Mark of Seeley Lake, MT and Christine of Austin, TX. Her grandchildren, Taylor (Camden) Wolf, Ellie, Jesse, Jack, Jenny and Layne Kimbrough all of Austin, TX, Bob (Linda) Cox of Superior, Ron (Connie) Cox of Kearney, and Marge (Alan) Holle of Deshler along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
