Karen went into her final sleep on Monday morning, July 29, 2013, and woke up to meet God, her creator, and Jesus her Savior:
"For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever would believe on Him would not perish, but have everlasting life." Karen invited Jesus into her life when she was in grade school, and she never waivered in her faith in him.
In May 2012, Karen was diagnosed with leukemia and told she had two days to live. Thanks to the care and efforts of the doctors, nurses and administration staff at Missoula Community Oncology Center, Karen was able to live a year and a month longer.
Karen is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jim (Turah); son, Mark of Butte; daughter, Shanon (Jordan) Mantha of Overland Park, Kan.; brother, Robert (Beatrice) Kinney of Superior; and granddaughter, Lillian Koefelda of Butte.
Karen was a member of the Missoula Alliance Church for the past 28 years. She worked in housekeeping and in the nursery for many of those years. One of her joys was watching the church's babies grow up and bring their babies to church.
Goodbye, Dear Heart, we'll meet again
