Obituary for Kalee Nicoline Jacobson Scolatti

I love you to the moon and back and forth."

On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, our beloved mother, daughter and sister Kalee left us far too soon. We take comfort in knowing that she was protected by her "big brother" TJ Dupras.

Kalee was born in Missoula on Jan. 25, 1981, to her parents Kathleen and Bob Jacobson and big brother Chad. She was always our strong, willful child and attended local schools until she decided not to.

She gave birth to her first daughter Izabele in 1998 and married Nicholas Scolatti in 1999. She then completed her last two years of high school by achieving her GED in just six months. She gave birth to her second daughter Marly in 2000.

She ennrolled at the University of Montana in 2001 and graduated with honors from the School of Journalism in television production in 2005. She interned at and was immediately hired by Max Media's television station KTMF in Missoula upon graduation.

She gave birth to her third daughter Sophia in 2009.

She was promoted to news director in January and was two days away from her 10th anniversary at ABC Fox Montana at the time of her death.

Her trajectory was stellar! Kalee loved her children, career, music (especially Pearl Jam) and large, extended family. She was passionate about baguettes, Malbec and cheese. She was our success story: a wonderful mother, a loving daughter, a loyal friend and pursued a rewarding career. We all miss her fiercely.

Kalee is survived by daughters, Izabele Nicoline, Marly Francesca and Sophia Kathleen Scolatti; parents, Kathleen Vavrovsky, Bob Jacobson and Thomas Plovanic; brother, Chad Jacobson; grandmother, Gladys Jacobson of Malta; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and and her very supportive Scolatti family, Mike, Danette, Adam, Jordan, Alex and Bubbi.

One of her favorite quotes was from Winnie the Pooh, "Promise me you'll never forget me, because if I thought you would, I'd never leave."

Donations for her family can be made online at gofundme.com/scolattigirls, youcaring.com (search for Kalee Scolatti) and directly at First Security Bank of Missoula.
