Obituary for Judy Ione Eastman

Judy lone Eastman, 65, of Missoula, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Community Medical Center of complications due to diabetes.

She was born May 29, 1949, in Midland, Michigan, to Don and Dora (Yates) Eastman. Judy married Rodney George Stevens in 1972 in Flint, Michigan. They lived in Saginaw, Michigan, for a short while and then made their home in Midland, Michigan, until 1980 when they relocated to Missoula.

Judy worked as a CNA at local nursing homes and private care homes until retiring in 2011. Judy lovingly cared for numerous clients throughout her professional health career.

Judy enjoyed the social interactions she found within her community and never passed up a chance to shoot the breeze with a stranger or the bagger or cashier from the grocery store. She filled her life with loving people, which strengthened and enriched all our lives.

Judy loved rummage sales and flea markets and was ready to go to the Goodwill store, usually with a grandchild in tow.

She loved the mountains and nature. Her favorite animal was frogs, and she never stopped collecting them. She enjoyed fast cars, and her Firebird could be frequently heard burning rubber.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Most of all, Judy was full of love and life. She never wasted an opportunity to make others feel loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Dora Eastman; son, Don Eastman-Stevens; and great-granddaughter, Kylie Wilson.

Survivors include her four children, Rhonda Leland, Jennifer Stevens, Rodney Stevens and Jason Stevens, all of Missoula; sisters and brothers, Peggy Eastman-Johnson of Midland, Michigan, James Eastman of Shepard, Michigan, and Suzan Rasmussen of St. Louis; 16 grandchildren; along with eight great-grandchildren. Judy held a special place in the hearts of many cousins, aunts and uncles, none more than Terry Eastman and Toni Leigh Eastman, both of Midland.

Cremation has taken place at Garden City Funeral Home. Memorial to be announced.
